The Cultural Forms Resource Kit is a digital resource kit for teachers, tutors and trainers of students in the CSEC Theatre Arts programme. It highlights many of Barbados’ indigenous cultural forms.
As detailed in the syllabus, students are required to have in-depth knowledge of the aesthetic practices derived from and identified with communities and cultures in the Caribbean including rituals, festivals, celebrations, games, music, dances and language. Currently the cultural forms that have been identified for Barbados are as follows: The Crop Over Festival; landship; stick licking; tuk band and tea meeting, inter alia.
